Heidi Watney was born May 19, 1981. She is a famous American sportscaster. Her past experience in sportscasting includes stints at the University of San Diego, New England Sports Network (Boston), Time Warner Cable SportsNet (Los Angeles) and two stations in Fresno. Watney was a Clovis West High School student in Fresno. She was a participant in gymnastics in hurdles, diving, and gymnastics. [1] She was an National Merit Scholar. She went to the University of San Diego with an academic scholarship. In 2003 she graduated with top honours. 2. Watney has participated in the Miss California USA pageant, in which she was the initial finalist in 2002. Watney is the sister of golf professional Nick Watney. 7 Andy Weir claimed that he utilized the name of Watney in the creation of the character Mark Watney in his science fiction novel The Martian. This was following her name being mentioned on a Red Sox game broadcast. Watney was featured in the music video for Dropkick Murphys' "Going Out in Style" single.
