Guarnaschelli, Maria Guarnaschelli's daughter works as a cookbook editor. Barnard College awarded her a degree with art history in 1991. A year later, she was paid minimum wages at the American Place in 1991. Guarnaschelli's love for cooking began when watching her mother try out a range of recipes at home while editing books. Guarnaschelli worked with Larry Forgione (whose son is Iron Chef Marc Forgione), and after that, at numerous restaurants in France, New York and Los Angeles, including Guy Savoy's La Butte Chaillot. Prior to joining Butter, she worked as an executive chef in the Patina restaurant of Daniel Boulud and at Joachim Splichal's Patina. She was executive chef at the Darby restaurant prior to its closure. She chairs The Museum of Food and Drink's Culinary Council. Guarnaschelli wrote her first cookbook in the year 2013. "Old school comfort food: How I Learned To Cook" comprises memoirs and favourite recipes developed by Guarnaschelli during her professional experience. Jamie Jamie Jamie
